The Derby Guide - Church of St John The Evangelist in Derby UK The Church of St John The Evangelist is situated in Bridge Street Derby. Dating from 1826-27, consists of a long, rectangular Gothic box without any tower but with four tall corner turrets. The interior, with galleries each side, is notable for its use of cast-iron in the window traceries and roof trusses. The apsidal chancel dates from 1872 and the fine "Father" Willis organ was installed in 1875.
